A Significant Equipment Donation:
On 8 May 2026, Asterix The Long Firefighting Dog NPC – Fire & Emergency Support Service received a generous equipment donation from Gray Venter of Infinity Fire.
The donation consisted of:
2 × brand-new 65 mm × 30 m layflat fire hoses.
The hoses were supplied new and still sealed in their original packaging.
For a non-profit emergency-support organisation, specialised firefighting equipment represents a significant operational expense. Donations of equipment that can be placed directly into service therefore make a meaningful contribution to Asterix's operational readiness.
60 Metres of Additional Layflat Hose:
The donation added a further 60 metres of 65 mm layflat hose to Asterix's available firefighting equipment.
Together with the hose already available to the organisation, this increased the total 65 mm layflat hose capability to approximately 90 metres, where a suitable water supply and operational configuration allow its use.
This substantially improves the flexibility available to crews when establishing water-supply lines during fire operations.
Why 65 mm Layflat Hose Matters:
Firefighting does not only depend on having water in a tank.
During prolonged or higher-demand incidents, the ability to move sufficient quantities of water efficiently can become critical.
Larger-diameter layflat hose may be used to establish water-supply lines between suitable water sources, pumps, tankers, skid units or other compatible firefighting resources.
