Situational Awareness & Monitoring System

To support proactive response and early detection, Asterix makes use of advanced situational awareness and monitoring technologies as part of our operational capability.
This includes:
  • Veld and forest fire tracking and monitoring systems,
Used to observe fire behaviour, spread patterns, and risk areas during wildfire incidents
  • Traffic flow monitoring systems,
Allowing early identification of abnormal traffic behaviour that may indicate:
  • Motor vehicle accidents
  • Road obstructions
  • Hazardous conditions
  • Emerging incidents on major routes
These systems assist with early verification, faster decision-making, safer crew deployment, and improved coordination with relevant emergency services.
Monitoring systems are used as a support tool and do not replace official traffic authorities or statutory monitoring systems.
