Initial Report:
At approximately 14:45 on 16 September 2025, a fire was reported in the Hamawasha area near Tzaneen.
Asterix The Long Firefighting Dog NPC – Fire & Emergency Support Service was dispatched at approximately 14:47, with two crew members responding in the skid-unit firefighting vehicle.
The team arrived at approximately 15:10.
Situation on Arrival:
The fire was burning through grass and bush vegetation and was threatening property in the area.
The operational record specifically notes that a house was in danger, making protection of the property and surrounding infrastructure an immediate priority.
