Initial Report:
At approximately 09:17 on 15 January 2026, the Asterix dispatch centre received a call from a member of the community reporting a motor vehicle accident on the R71 between the Deerpark and Venbeck turnoffs.
The incident involved a bakkie and a truck.
At the time the call was received, the Asterix team was already only a few kilometres from the reported location and was able to proceed directly to the scene.
Situation on Arrival:
On arrival, responders confirmed that the collision involved the bakkie and truck reported by the caller.
The driver of the bakkie had sustained minor injuries.
No other serious injuries were reported.

The patient was successfully transferred into the care of Evac911 and transported for further medical attention.
No other serious injuries were reported.
